I don't have scales but the advertised stock weight is 40.5 lbs which is what I'd say it feels like.

I'm not totally sure what you are referring to but if you mean halfway up the lowers then it's a join between two bits of protective plastic I stuck on to stop the lowers getting scratched. I stuck some on the stays too where your heels sometimes rub. It's a bit precious of me I know but as a result all the paint on the bike is in practically like new.

Bizarre contraption really. I had my mtb set up with drops years ago in a Tomac-wannabee style. Fun novelty value for a while but terrifying on anything other than gently rolling hills!
